For convenience and portability, STOW offers a choice of five newly redesigned mortar and plaster mixers with different sized batch capacities and a wide range of power options.
STOW’s mortar and plaster mixers are offered in capacities of 4 ½, 6.3, 7, 9.3 and 12 cubic feet. All come standard with a sturdy welded drum grate and built-in bag breakers that stand up to heavy bags, an improved paddle design for improved performance and a smoother mix, and a rugged 14-gauge steel engine cover with punched ventilation openings for increased cooling and added strength. Also, each model is easy to transport with the options of a loop coupler, 2-inch ball hitch or pin-type coupler, and a long tow pole positioned for better leverage.
The popular MS30 has a 9.3-cubic-foot capacity and is available in two power options: an 8-horsepower Honda gasoline engine or a 2-horsepower single-phase electric motor. The MS30 is belt/gear driven, weighs 693 pounds and features a drum lock allowing positive “mix” and “tow” positions.
Boasting a 12-cubic-foot batch capacity, the MS40 is the largest mortar/plaster mixer in the STOW line. Power options include an 11-horsepower Honda gas engine (mechanical drive) or a 13-horsepower Honda gas engine (hydraulic drive). The mixer weighs 1,010 pounds.
Both the mechanical and hydraulic drive models are built for larger, stiffer mixes and eliminate wear components such as V-belts, external gears and pulleys. The mechanical drive unit has the drive gear and multiple disc clutch immersed in oil for extended, trouble-free life while the hydraulic model reduces maintenance. A built-in hydraulic safety relief system immediately disengages should an object become wedged in the drum and an optional hydraulic dump system provides high output with minimal operator fatigue.
